Weekly Vocabulary Practice

Each week you must learn eight vocabulary words that I will provide from our reading assignments.

1. Record all of your words and practice activities in one spreadsheet on Google Docs, and label the document to reference “vocabulary.”

2. On Monday:  List each word, its part of speech, a popular definition in your own words or a synonym, and a sentence using each word in an appropriate context.

3. On Tuesday:  On the same spreadsheet, list two different forms of the word, each corresponding part of speech, and a sentence for each new word form.

4. On Wednesday:  Use the vocabulary words orally in class to earn 2 points per word for correct usage.

5. On Thursday:  Review the words with a partner or by using Quizlet.com prior to taking the quiz. You will complete a quiz of all eight words the first Thursday, 16 words the second Thursday, 24 words the next Thursday and a final over all 32 words on the last Thursday of the block.
